Privacy Policy

The following discloses our information gathering and dissemination practices for the Coriell Institute website (https://www.coriell.org):

Information gathering:  We may use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server and to administer our website by identifying (1) which parts of our site are most heavily used, and (2) which portion of our audience comes from within the Coriell Institute network. We do not link IP addresses to anything personally identifiable. This means that user sessions will be tracked, but the users will remain anonymous.

Use of information:  The Coriell Institute’s Communications staff uses the information gathered above to tailor site content to user needs, and to generate aggregate statistical reports. At no time do we disclose site usage by individual IP addresses. Web server logs are retained on a temporary basis and then deleted completely from our systems.

Security:  This site has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. The Coriell Institute however, is not liable for the loss, misuse or alteration of information on this site by any third party. Statement of Ethical Conduct

Coriell Institute for Medical Research is founded on an understanding of the importance of advancing scientific and medical research in order to achieve positive healthcare outcomes. World-class and internationally-reaching scientific, medical research and healthcare institutions must exhibit a unique dedication to the rigorous pursuit of greater knowledge in the best interests of global health. It is with these important goals in mind that Coriell expects all employees, officers, agents and subsidiaries representing Coriell in their research, administration, support and other roles, to make a commitment to and maintain the highest standards of ethical conduct.

Coriell and all employees, officers, agents and subsidiaries will strive to understand their responsibilities to Coriell and to their local and global communities, and in furtherance of these responsibilities will work to achieve positive goals honestly, equitably, truthfully, in accordance with Coriell policies and procedures, and in compliance with the law. In the event an employee, officer, agent or subsidiary is uncertain of the law, or has questions about other specific or related issues, a supervisor or designated compliance officer shall be consulted.


Conflict of Interest Policy

In furtherance of Coriell's Statement of Ethical Conduct, Coriell has established a comprehensive Conflict of Interest identification, disclosure and reporting policy. This policy focuses on significant financial conflicts of interest, institutional and organizational conflicts, and related perceived or actual conflicts in procurement, contracting, and research design and implementation. Coriell and all employees, officers, agents, and subsidiaries shall avoid any actual or perceived conflict between personal interests and the interests of Coriell. Furthermore, they shall avoid any situation where it would be reasonable to believe that the person's judgment or commitment might be adversely affected. Coriell will work within the guidelines of this policy to identify, disclose, manage, and report actual or perceived conflicts. This process will be completed through annual training, conflict of interest disclosure statements, and ethical conduct attestations by employees, officers, agents and subsidiaries involved in research design and implementation, contracting, procurement, and other financially or significantly impactful organizational decision-making. This policy and related administrative procedures will be administered, managed and enforced by the designated compliance representative in conjunction with the CFO.
