The first account registration page asks for an email address and password for your new account. Your email address will be used for activation later on in the process. Click on "Next" to proceed.

User Information

The second page asks for your contact information. Fill in the required info and move on to the next page.

Shipping Information

The shipping address is the address we’ll ship your order to. If it’s the same as your mailing information, click the checkbox to automatically fill it in.

Billing Information

On this page, you’ll be asked for you billing information. Be sure to fill in all of the required fields and any optional fields that apply. The billing address is the address where the invoice will be mailed.

Institutional Official Information

The fifth account registration page asks for contact information for an institutional official (IO) that can make legal commitments on behalf of your institution. The Institutional Official needs to also sign the MTA. In our experience, the individual who can make such legally binding commitments is usually a senior institutional official (for example President, Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Executive Officer, Chief Scientific Officer, General Counsel or Director of Research) with responsibility for scientific and technological research and development or legal affairs. This individual is likely to be a signing official or the person who can make legal commitments on behalf of the institution receiving biomaterials. This person is typically authorized to sign grant applications, contracts or material transfer agreements on behalf of the institution.

Principal Investigator Information

The last account registration page asks for contact information of the principal investigator (PI) of the lab which will receive the biomaterials. The Principal Investigator is the person responsible for the Repository Sample(s), the conduct of the Statement of Research Intent, and possesses the authority to enforce all guidelines and requirements included in the MTA. The Principal Investigator supervises the research team performing the work.

  • At an academic institution, the Principal Investigator will typically hold the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor.
  • At a commercial, for-profit institution, the PI should be a staff scientist or a scientist at the Director-level or higher.
