Animal and Xenograft

The Coriell Animal and Xenograft Core offers a wide array of services to assist with the design and implementation of xenograft animal studies. The Core maintains a large breeding colony (~30 breeder pairs) of immune-deficient (NSG) mice to meet customer’s demand. Experimental animals are housed in our NSG-dedicated BSL-2 space fully equipped with all the necessary equipment for procedures and survival surgeries.

The facility’s capabilities include a full range of xenograft models, including human CD34+ cells transplanted into NSG mice, orthotopic patient-derived xenograft (PDX) models of hematologic malignancies (AML, ALL), and solid tumor (i.e., hepatic, ovarian, brain, lung) models.

The RS 2000 Biological Irradiator was developed for the research irradiation of small animals, cells, tissue and more. The RS 2000 uses a form of filtration specifically designed for small animal irradiation, mA combinations plus patented RADPlus Research Solutions that prevent skin burns at a higher kV.

The Spectral Ami HT acquire quantitative images from a diverse set of applications including well plates and small animals. The imaging system contains a high-performance cooled CCD camera to record the image collected by a large aperture lens with automation for filter and field of view selection. Luminescence and  fluorescence are combined into the system utilizing the latest technologies.
