Remarks |
Golden Syrian hamster strain LAK:LVG SYR (Charles River outbred Lakeland line). The aorta was taken immediately post-mortem on 11/29/83. Strips of the medial layer were removed, minced, and used as explants to initiate the culture. Cell morphology is fibroblast-like and the cells form layered sheets at post-confluence. The culture tested positive for alpha-smooth muscle actin (immunofluorescence assay). Culture grows slowly. |
