Clinically affected; diagnosis at 42 years of age; painless and progressive muscle weakness; muscle atrophy in the right lower limb; mild weakness affecting the distal left upper and left lower limbs; foot drop; fasciculation affecting both upper limbs, left lower limb, and face; weakness /cramping in left lower leg; hyperreflexic throughout in asymmetrical fashion; dyspnea on exertion; clinical and electrodiagnostic evidence of fairly widespread lower and upper motor neuron dysfunction; overnight oximetry results: borderline oxygen desaturations due to intermittent sleep disordered breathing; treatments include physical and occupational therapies; assistive device includes ankle-foot orthotics; family history includes a paternal first cousin, paternal second cousin and paternal aunt (not in repository). |
