Remarks |
Angus breed. The age of the donor is estimated. The thoracic aorta was removed immediately post-mortem on 10/22/85. Strips of the medial layer were removed, minced, and used as explants to initiate the culture. Cell morphology is fibroblast-like. The culture tested positive for alpha-smooth muscle actin and negative for the endothelial cell-specific von Willebrand factor (immunofluorescence assays). An endothelial cell culture from this cow is AG08503. |
