The Song Lab is actively looking for postdoc and talented scientists who share a passion for cancer biology research, especially related to gastrointestinal cancers. Drop us a line if you're a good fit.

Postdoctoral Researcher

The laboratory of Dr. Shumei Song at the Coriell Institute for Medical Research in Camden, NJ, is looking for motivated 2 postdoctoral researchers to work on the topics of understanding how aberrant stem cell signaling (i.e. Hippo/YAP, Notch) play a role in cancer stemness, therapy resistance and metastasis, and how the deregulation of these stem cell signaling affects tumor immunosuppressive microenvironments. Dr. Song and her Team strive to discover novel target and immunotherapies by elucidating tumor-immune interactions and tumor microenvironment from patient samples. The team is building the functional translational gastrointestinal cancer research platforms (PDXs, organoids, patients’ derived cell lines and stem cell closing etc) using GI patients’ primary and metastatic tissues or ascites cells aiming translate discoveries into new therapies.

When hired, the postdoctoral researcher will work closely with Dr. Song and other research members at Coriell to conduct high-caliber research. The postdoctoral researcher will assist in the development of an independent research program focused on this field. The postdoctoral researcher is expected to be an active contributor to the research team and to the preparation and submissions of publications and grants.

Highly-motivated candidates with a recent PhD or MD/PhD in molecular biology and an enthusiastic commitment to conduct scientific projects in a collaborative environment are encouraged to apply. We are looking for individuals who are both passionate about science and hardworking. Strong proven record of scientific accomplishment is also needed in order to be considered for this role.
