Remarks |
The donor had autopsy confirmed Alzheimer's disease with an onset of symptoms after age 70. Donor's parent & 3 siblings are also affected. The donor was the product of a consanguineous marriage. The biopsy was taken ante-mortem from the skin of the right thigh and the culture was initiated on 12/26/89 using explants of minced tissue. The cell morphology is fibroblast-like. Culture is frozen at PDL 4. The karyotype is normal with 6% of the cells examined showing random chromosome loss/gain and 12% showing random chromosomal rearrangements. Donor's affected siblings are AG10984A Lymphoblast, AG11001 Lymphoblast, and AG10987 Lymphoblast. A lymphoblast culture from same donor is AG10956B. Donor was homozygous for the 4 allele of apolipoprotein E. The legacy karyotype description shown in this Remark may not be representative of the current available product. |
