K692X; XERODERMA PIGMENTOSUM, COMPLEMENTATION GROUP C |
Identified Mutation |
LYS692TER |
Remarks |
XP54BE; clinically affected; marked sun sensitivity; burning within 5 minutes of sun exposure at age 1 year; marked freckling of exposed skin areas; no neurologic abnormalities; >20 basal cell carcinomas of the face and eyelids; 11% of normal DNA excision repair; donor subject is a compound heterozygote: the maternal allele has an A>T transversion at nucleotide 2179 in exon 10 of the XPC gene (2179A>T) resulting in a substitution of a termination codon for lysine at codon 692 [Lys692Ter (K692X)]; the mutation on the paternal allele is not identified |
