Confirmation Clinical summary/Case history
ISCN 46,XX
Species Homo sapiens
Common Name Human
Remarks The TIG-1 cell line was initiated at the Tokyo Metropolitan Institute of Gerontology on 7/28/76 using lung tissue from a 5 month gestational age fetus from a therapeutic abortion. Cells released by trypsin digestion of a lung specimen were used for the primary culture. The cell morphology is fibroblast-like. The karyotype is 46,XX; normal diploid female. The maximum number of population doublings achieved to senescence range from 55 to 79. G6PD is isoenzyme type B. The legacy karyotype description shown in this Remark may not be representative of the current available product.
