Vice President, Academic Affairs

Ruby O’Lexy, PhD, is the Vice President of Academic Affairs at Coriell. In her role, Ruby steers and supports Coriell’s research efforts by pinpointing funding opportunities which align with the Institute’s priorities, coordinating proposal development, and providing high level proposal support while working closely with research faculty and external sponsors. She also supports these efforts through infrastructure and program development (e.g. student pipelines, faculty policies, incentive programs).

Ruby also oversees Coriell’s research compliance team, responsible for ensuring Coriell’s research is always in compliance with regulations around conflicts of interest, institutional biosafety, export controls, human subject research, etc. Her team is also responsible for all of Coriell’s intellectual property and technology transfer agreements.

In her role, Ruby also oversees Coriell’s Human Resources department and serves on the Faculty Search and Track & Promotion committees.

Prior to Coriell, Ruby completed her doctoral degree in cell and molecular biology at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA, studying the regulation of intercellular signaling. Ruby received her undergraduate degree in biology from Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ.

Ruby also serves as a member of Project H.O.P.E.’s Board of Directors.
