Pan Zhang, MD, PhD

Director, Sequencing and Microarray Center

Pan Zhang, PhD, MD, is director of the sequencing and microarray center at Coriell Institute, a powerful, high-throughput laboratory capable of analyzing large volumes of DNA and RNA samples. The facility is also integral to the success of the Coriell Personalized Medicine Collaborative research study, as it performs genome analyses for the more than 10,000 enrolled participants.

Prior to joining Coriell, Pan was a senior research scientist with the NewYork-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center, where she was responsible for developing, validating and implementing next generation sequencing assays in clinical molecular diagnostic laboratory. She also spent five years supporting the outputs of the Rutgers University Hospital and Health Service organization in the capacity of senior research scientist, focusing on next generation sequencing testing for solid tumors.

Pan earned her advanced degree in neuropharmacology at the Peking University Health Science Center in Beijing, China, and her medical degree from the Shanxi Medical University. She acquired her doctorate in biomedical sciences from Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences.
