Brief Description: These cell lines and DNA samples were prepared from blood samples collected from unrelated individuals living in the Denver Colorado metropolitan area who were self-identified as having four Han Chinese grandparents. Although individuals emigrated from many different locations of China, this set of samples was not drawn to be representative of all Han Chinese people. These samples should also not be seen as representing all people who emigrated from China or people in China where there are 56 officially recognized ethnicities. Like the samples from China and Japan, these samples should not be described merely as "Asian" or "East Asian".

Ninety of these samples (45 males and 45 females) have been included in a panel designated as the HAPMAPV11 panel.
